Programs for Educators

This professional development workshop is designed to be delivered to Early Childhood Educators and Teachers, as a tool to explore certain behaviours in children and find strategies to help address them.

This PD is delivered by our expert Play Therapists, who will explore what causes the behaviours or the “why” behind them, and what is happening for the child who is having these big responses.

Educators will be taken on a journey, aiming to shift how children and their behaviour are viewed, which will ultimately inform strategies and interventions, designed to help educators address these behaviours in their classroom.

At the conclusion of this PD, educators will explore some principles they can put into practice to apply this knowledge and create an emotionally sensitive classroom.

Embedding therapeutic practice into everyday preschool life

In-house therapeutic consultation, mentoring and educator development for preschool communities.

Educators play a vital role in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing and development - but who is supporting the educators?

The Therapeutic Preschool Partnership brings qualified play therapists into preschool settings to provide reflective, relationship-based support where it matters most: in the everyday moments of the learning environment.

Across 12 months, our therapists partner with educators to strengthen therapeutic presence, deepen understanding of children’s emotional, social, behavioural and developmental needs, and support attuned, responsive practice across the whole preschool community. This in-house partnership means educators do not need to leave the floor for support. Instead, play therapists take time to understand each room, relational dynamics and context, offering real-time mentoring, consultation and practical reflection that can be embedded into daily practice.

The program is designed to build educator confidence, capability and resilience while supporting the wellbeing, development and safety of children - and, by extension, the families and communities around them.
