Do you remember your 10th Birthday? Welcome to a night of classic birthday fun, including party games, retro toys, music and dancing provided by The Replacements. However, instead of fairy bread and party pies you will be treated to an epicurean 3 course meal and fine wines (but we have snuck in the lolly bar with all your childhood favourites!)

Fundraising activities on the night will include party game classics such as pass the parcel, with a great prize per table on offer, high stakes musical chairs, silent and live auctions and many more birthday surprises.

In joining us at the dinner you are helping to create a brighter future for children impacted by serious trauma and life challenges. Your birthday host for the night is Simon Reeve, popular presenter from 7’s Weekend Sunrise and Be Centre Ambassador.

All funds raised on the night will help us support more children in difficulty than ever before.

Our wishlist: 

$170 (Unlimited) Play Therapy Session: Even one supported Play Therapy session will make a difference to a disadvantaged vulnerable child in the community needing help.

$250 (x6) Play Equipment and Creative Arts supplies for Play Rooms: As you can appreciate with the number of children who go through our Play Therapy rooms each week we are constantly having to replace, refresh and upgrade our equipment as well as top up our art and craft supplies on a daily basis. Your support will provide supplies and equipment to one of our Play rooms for 6 months.

$500 (x1) Parenting Support Booklet: We know that if we can support parents and help them understand what their child is going through and provide them with positive feedback and practical tips on what to do and how to respond and manage their child’s behaviour and problems, then the outcomes we can achieve for the child are greatly increased. With your support we would like to produce a practical information booklet for parents on how to navigate what is often a difficult and emotionally charged time within the family.

$1,000 (x 1) Sensory Play Kit: Children in trauma often need sensory input to help themregulate their emotions and behaviour. Your generous support would help us fund a fun Creative Arts sensory pack that we would give to the children so that they can take it home with them and use it to help them develop coping skills for their anxiety. We will be able to produce approx. 500 kits for this amount.

$2,000 (x6) 12 Week Play Therapy Program: Provide a child whose family are experiencing financial hardship the help to create better learning outcomes and a brighter future that they otherwise could not afford.

Be Centre is a children’s mental health charity providing vital emotional support to vulnerable children aged 3-12yrs. We receive no government funding and rely solely on the generosity of the community along with caring individuals and companies to ensure we can provide children experiencing difficulties with the skills and resilience they need to create brighter prospects for the future and ensure that problems don’t become more complex and entrenched.

The proceeds from our 10th Birthday Gala Fundraising Dinner will assist us in employing additional Play Therapists so that we can reach this goal and reduce the time children need to wait for help.
